Hudson and Don Roberto

Celebrating Two Anglo-Argentine Heroes, A century On

A century has passed since the British Prime Minister, Stanley Baldwin, unveiled a monument and nature reserve in Hyde Park, dedicated to the memory of naturalist and author W. H. Hudson. The project to honour his friend was masterminded by the celebrated ‘Don Roberto’ Cunninghame Graham, the Hispano-Scots writer, adventurer, politician, campaigner and all-round renaissance man. What united these two extraordinary men was their shared past in Argentina, and their later lives in Britain. Both were dedicated to creating a better world, in their different ways. Author Conor Mark Jameson will tell the story of their remarkable friendship.
