Talk by Fernando García – Q&A. In Spanish and on Zoom with English interpretation available.
Fernando’s book, El Di Tella, (Editorial Paidós-May 2021) is an Intimate history of a cultural phenomenon about that mythical avant-garde space through which very dissimilar artists passed between 1963 and 1970. Born from an industrial company (SIAM), Di Tella became a true epicenter of artistic trends from the ’60s. Located at 900 Florida Street, it housed arts so different that they ranged from painting to theater and music to dance: Marta Minujín, Nacha Guevara, Les Luthiers, Almendra, Marilú Marini, Andy Warhol, Umberto Eco, John Cage, Julio Le Parc, Yayoi Kusama were part of the essence of this legendary field, among many other artists.
